Dogs and Angels

Angels can appear in the most unexpected places

Many years ago, I was walking the country lanes in Waimea on the Big Island of Hawaii, when a pack of angry dogs attacked. That story, “Four-Legged Angel,” was published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: A Book of Miracles. I just heard this morning that my story will get a second life. It was chosen for Chicken Soup for the Soul’s newsletter, “Positively Pets.” You can sign up to get the free newsletter here: http://www.chickensoup.com/form.asp?cid=signup

  1. Now who’s the famous one? Very well done you!

    • Thanks you (can I know your first name at least?). I hope you’re onto something there. As my friend used to say, “Your lips to God’s ear.” I always loved that.

      • My friends call me Dallas as when I was at school one of the boys managed to get hold of one of his Dad’s skin flicks – “Debbie Does Dallas” and its stuck ever since – imagine being called after a porn star!

      • There’s a photographer here named Dallas (her real name), and her work is awesome. Plus, the writer J.D. Robb’s main character’s name is Eve Dallas (but most people call her Dallas), so you’re in good company, even if the origin of your nickname might be a bit on the risqué side (at least it’s colorful. lol). Actually, I wish I had a cool nickname (with a reason behind it).

    • Grace, thank you. You’ve made my day. I’ll have to wait a few weeks to formally accept because my schedule is overwhelming at the moment and I can’t stop to properly fulfill the award’s requirements, but I intend to do so at the first available opportunity. In the meantime, I will savor the fact that you thought enough of my blog to nominate me.
